This is hilarious!

Especially as a mini-van owner…  :)

Mom, it’s your special day…

Harrison’s preschool class had a Mother’s Day program at school today.  It was very sweet, and I had to share this video of his class singing to all of us moms.  I love his little ending- he couldn’t hold his excitement in!  (And that is him singing louder the first half of the song.  :)   I think I’ve watched it about 50 times today.  I don’t think it will ever get old.

Clever

Yesterday Harrison and I took Kelly to the eye doctor in the Quad Cities. While we were waiting for him to get done, we went to Sonic to get a half-price drink and snack during their ‘happy hour’.

Harrison was upset that we weren’t going to Target to get an icee. I told him Sonic had slushes that were the same thing, but he wasn’t convinced. He proceeded to throw a tantrum that only three year olds can throw. :)

In the meantime, I was looking for a park in our GPS system in the van so we could go play. The voice came on and said something, but I didn’t hear it. I told Harrison to be quiet so I could hear what it said.

Harrison says in the middle of his fit, “She said go to Target!”

Oh yeah, and he loved his slush. :)

The Erika Kate Foundation

Over the last few years, we have become friends with some dear people.  Rich and Tracie Maynard lost their sweet daughter, Erika Kate, to a heart condition 4 years ago this June.  They wanted to do something for others through their loss and started a foundation in Erika’s name to assist other families who had children with heart conditions, and were facing financial burdens.  You can visit their website at www.erikakate.org.

Their efforts have grown and they have assisted many, many families over the last 3 years.  The need is great, and they want to help as many families as they can.  And not only do they help financially, they also help emotionally and spiritually.  They help these families by praying for them, talking with them, simply encouraging them through one of the most difficult times of their lives.

They rely on donations from individuals, and are also in the running for a grant from the Pepsi Refresh Campaign.  They are in the running for $50,000, which could help as many as 50 additional families.

I would encourage you to go to their website, learn more about them, and then go to the Refresh Campaign and vote once a day for the month of May.  They need to be in the top 10 to receive the grant.  If they receive the grant, the money will go directly to the families for assistance.

Thanks for your help!!

Funny-man

Harrison is becoming quite the comic- an he knows it, too.

Tonight he went to church with Kelly during practice. I had a bad headache all day, which meant I was extra nauseas, too. Fun. Not a very good parenting day. Harrison needed to get out.

While at church, Harrison fell and scraped his knee. They got home, we fixed it up and put a band-aid on it. Harrison gets up to walk to the bathroom and says, in his most serious tone, but trying not to laugh, “I might need a wheelchair.”.

I cracked up laughing. I think I needed to laugh, but it was so funny. :)

Another baby boy!

We had our ultrasound yesterday, and it is definitely a boy! He was a mover and a shaker…just like Harrison was. :) The lady doing the exam couldn’t get pictures of everything she needed because he was moving around so much. But, everything looked fine, so we are thankful. We’ll likely go in around 30 weeks to get the rest of the pictures. I will put some pictures up here soon of the ultrasound

Today I had my monthly OB appointment, and again, all looked good. I came home and told Harrison that I heard the baby’s heart beat. He wanted to say hi to the baby (I have been telling him that the baby can probably hear him).

He proceeded to have me open my mouth, and then yelled into it, “HI BABY!”

I guess it makes perfect sense that if he wants to say hi to the baby, he would say it into my mouth and the baby in my tummy would hear it! :)

Easter Eggs

We decided to color some Easter Eggs today…

(I saw this great idea in a magazine to use a whisk to dip the eggs into the dye. It worked great! I got mine at a dollar store, and it works better because you can move the wires to get the eggs in and out. That way Harrison could use it without dropping the eggs.)

Waiting for the green…

He was very proud of the letters we put on the eggs…

(Wow…that is quite some bed head. And that was at 2:00 in the afternoon.)

I asked him to point to his favorite.

We had a lot of fun! And we got to talk some about what the real meaning of Easter is, too. God sending his son Jesus to die on the cross, so we could all have new life. A precious, precious gift.

Shorts and Sandals on April 1st!

No fooling! It is gorgeous here today!
