Inauguration Day

Inauguration Day is upon us on Tuesday…it will bring about many changes, I am sure.  Our pastor talked today at church about the need to support our President, whether you agree with him or not.  So true.  I get irritated at the disrespect I hear towards presidents when they’ve done something wrong, or silly, or [...]

Mater

I found this Mater toy at a consignment shop for $3.  I couldn’t resist it.  He still LOVES Cars and I knew he would love this.  It is like new, and when you push his lights on top he says different sayings from the movie.  One of them is a pooting sound.  When that one [...]

It is cold here

Cold.  Plain cold.  Frigid.  This morning our digital thermometer said -21.  The news said it was -17 with a windchill of -41.
And I think it’s getting to me.  Last night after supper, Kelly politely told me that I had been very crabby and that I needed to get out.  He proceeded to look up the [...]

My friend Jody posted this on her blog the other day.  I cannot get it out of my mind.  Which is a good thing.  It is heartbreaking, but I think it needs to be watched.  I just sat and cried for about 10 minutes afterwards.  How many more kids are there in this kind of [...]

Not too much has been going on lately.  Sorry for my lack of pictures.  Have just been feeling on edge lately…lots of things going through my brain at some moments.  Other moments nothing seems to be going through it.  Don’t know what to make of that.  Anyway, maybe it’s the weather.  Bitter cold, along with [...]

2 years and some other UNBELIEVEABLE news

It just dawned on me that we have now been in this house for two years already!  I can’t believe that.  Our closing was Jan. 5th, 2007.  And we’re still working on trim.    The house to do list is never done.
And…drum roll, please…Jody announced today a total for the Water For Christmas campaign.
$59,000.  [...]

unbelievable

I signed Harrison up for next fall’s preschool today.  WHAT?  I can’t believe he’s going to be three.  I know he will love going to preschool.  It’s just two mornings a week, and I know he will enjoy being with the other kids.  And it will be good for him to learn a few directions, [...]

A few more…

I had wanted to add these last night, but it was getting late, and I needed to get to bed.  We were asleep on New Year’s Eve by 11:00.  Exciting stuff!    But, we were both exhausted.
These are from the Gubser Christmases that we celebrated.  We got to see Kelly’s brother Troy and his [...]
