I am friends with some amazing people…

So my friends Jody, Amy and Cassie have been the ones behind this Water For Christmas deal, and they have done such an amazing job.  As of last Friday, there had been $20,000 in donations made.  $20,000.
That is 4 wells!
So tonight Cassie’s parents, Larry and Candi, hosted a Water For Christmas silent auction at our [...]

We’re home

We’ve actually been home since about 7:30 last night, but this has been about my first chance to sit down at the computer.
Everything is going very well with Kelly.  He’s still pretty sore, and has some air bubbles, but doing great overall.  I think yesterday he was thinking he would be up and moving around [...]

Good Morning

Kelly is doing extremely well this morning!  Praise God!
He slept really well until about 4:00 am when the lab came in to get some blood work done.  He got up at that time and walked around, which he couldn’t do before because he was still too nauseous from the anesthesea.  He slept a little more [...]

4 hours after surgery…

and in between snores, Kelly says “Well, I’m ready to go home now.”  Um, sorry honey.  I don’t think so.

in the room

We’re up in the room now.  #3211- phone number is 563-421-7311.  He’s doing good- very sleepy and in some pain, obviously, but doing good.

done!

The doctor just came in and said everything went great!  They were able to do it laproscopically, which was a little concern b/c of his previous hernia surgeries, but they did get to do it that way, which will mean an easier recovery.
I’ll be able to go up to his room in about 45 minutes.
Thanks [...]

In the waiting room…

Just got here about 10 minutes ago, so they seem to be right on schedule.  Should take about 2 hours total for the surgery, and another 1 1/2 for recovery.  They should come get me in about 2 hours, though, to let me know how everything went.
Thanks for all your prayers.  Kelly seemed a little [...]

Here we go…

just getting ready to head out to the hospital.  Thanks for all your prayers!  I’ll keep the blog updated as much as possible.

Changes

I’ve been debating on what to write in this post.  Not exactly sure what to write, so I’ll just let it all out.
Kelly is having Gastric Bypass surgery on Thursday.  He has prayed, researched and thought about this on and off for probably 8 years.  He wasn’t ever ready until now.  He had a doctor [...]

A First

I had my first experience this morning of not being able to find my child in a crowded room.  What an awful feeling.
Harrison has one speed: fast.  And he isn’t the best at staying by my side.  We’re working on that.  But he gets away from me so fast.  Usually I can see him, or [...]
