dirty water
Yesterday while I was giving Harrison a bath, he was teasing me, pretending that he was going to drink the water out of his bath toy. I said “No, Harrison. That’s dirty water. It will make your tummy sick.”
In all honesty, it probably wouldn’t. It had some soap, the day’s dirt, and maybe a little pee.
It didn’t have life threatening illnesses in it. It didn’t have animal feces. It didn’t have human feces.
After I said it, I immediately thought of all the mothers around the world that can’t turn on a faucet in their bathroom (they don’t even have bathrooms), wash their dishes clean, turn on their washer and get clean clothes in less than an hour. Who have to risk their lives on a daily basis to even get water.
Oh, do I ever take it for granted.
Trying to change that in my heart and my mind.
There are some exciting things going on in the near future with Water For Christmas. My friend, Jody, who was the one to originally come up with the idea and has worked tirelessly over the last year, has been featured on the Lifetime channel this week. You can read the story on Lifetime here, and then read her version of it here.
And if you don’t have cable (like us), you can see the video here. What great publicity for Water For Christmas!
And the organization that Water For Christmas donates to, charity: water, was featured on the CBS news tonight. You can see a video of the story here.
Such exciting things going on. I am anxiously awaiting to see how it changes other people’s lives, and my life, too.

That is a lot to think about. Honestly, not an issue I’ve given a lot of thought to. I will now. Thank you.
