Misc….
I wanted to get some of these things down so I wouldn’t forget:
* Harrison loves to blow kisses. He will look out the window at Kelly leaving in the morning, and blow him kisses over and over again. Kelly pretends like he is getting hit by them, and Harrison just laughs at him so hard. So cute!
*We’ve been potty training pretty consistently for a week or so. He does pretty good, and has started catching on to the control part of it, although he doesn’t always like to go. We’re using M&M’s as an incentive…or has Harrison says it- “choc-o-late, pwease”, in a very high voice.
*Harrison can now count to 11. It blows my mind. We were doing good with 1, 2, 3 and then all of a sudden last week he kept going all the way to 10. And just yesterday he went to 11. He has to be counting something, though, and not just from the top of his head.
*He knows some letters (thanks mainly to the fridge phonics game). We don’t sit there and study them, but he’ll just play with it every once in a while, and he’s learning them. We sing the ABC song and he says some of them with me…although sometimes when I start singing he will hit me on the leg and say “Stop, mommy, stop!”
*He still loves Cars, though we don’t watch it near as much. He just loves playing with cars, and putting them in lines.
*If I am doing something at the counter, he has to bring a chair over and “atch, mommy, atch”. (watch)
*His favorite phrases are: I do it, Ove you (love you), I two!!! (he says this one out of the blue several times a day, and also while holding up any number of fingers), Ehere Jack, mommy? Ehere Babby, mommy? (where’s Jack? where’s Abby?), Anma’s chair, Anpa’s chair (grandma’s chair, grandpa’s chair, or bed, etc.).
And this one is funny- if I tell him something, he’ll say “why not, mommy?” For example,
me: “Harrison, we’re going to go to Wal-Mart.”
Harrison: “Why not, Mommy?” (with a very perplexed look on his face)
And then I’ll explain that we’re going to go to Wal-mart again to get groceries, etc, and again, he’ll say “Why not, mommy?”
Sometimes he’ll ask it about 10 times in a row, no matter what I say.
He is so much fun to be around right now, but also very exhausting. Between potty training, being VERY active, and being two…I am usually very tired at night. But we love him so much and wouldn’t change a thing right now, except maybe for him to sleep in a little longer in the morning.

I love the “Why not mommy?” It is classic toddler question word confusion. If I tell Dima something I want him to do and he doesn’t want to, he asks me, “what?” about 20 times. They are smart little guys to play dumb so soon. Kudos on the potty training! We used M&M’s too. Dima was a quick study at that whole thing which was a mercy since he has a high strung, impatient mommy!
