Destruction
I don’t know if it’s me not listening well enough to the news, or just being used to hearing “today there were 26 casualties from Hurricane Ike” or “today there were 10 casualties in the war on terror”…
But I always find if I dig a little deeper I’m able to find out a story…a story of someone who is there going through the destruction, and it makes me listen harder to the numbers and know that these are people with families, people with homes, people who need help.
I found this blog through another that I have been following…it is the blog of a woman who runs a rescue center in Haiti, and was right in the middle of one of the hardest hit areas during the hurricanes. Go and read. I have no clue what these people are going through. Utter destruction. Pain. Sorrow. Death. Loss.
And I wonder why we aren’t seeing these stories on the 5:00 news.
