Amazing Story

My friend Cassie recently posted about this family on her blog. I have started to follow their story now, too, and am amazed everyday by their courage and faithfulness.

In a summary, they have been living in a hospital for 3 months waiting for a lung transplant for the wife, Tricia. She has CF, and became pregnant unexpectedly last year. They have had the baby, Gwenyth Rose, who was born at 24 or 25 weeks. She is doing well, but will be in the hospital for a while longer, as she is only up to some 2 1/2 pounds. Just last night, Tricia had her lung transplant, and seems to be doing well. I am amazed at her husband, Nate, who is a worship paster, and his attitude towards the whole situation. He has been right there with them in the hospital the whole time, supporting both of the girls and serving them.

On a post last week, they talked about Tricia changing Gwenyth’s diaper for the first time since she was born, about 12 weeks ago. I don’t know how many times I have been frustrated at Harrison because he is squirmy, or doesn’t want to lay there, or that I JUST changed him 5 minutes ago, and now he is poopy! It really put it into perspective for me: I am so thankful I have been able to change him, that he is squirmy and healthy, and active and that I can serve him in this way. Stop being so selfish, Amy.

Anyway, it is worth checking out. Oh, and Chad, he has a cool photography blog with some adorable pictures of their pug. :)
