I’ve been tagged

HERE’S HOW YOU PLAY. ONCE YOU’VE BEEN TAGGED YOU HAVE TO WRITE A BLOG OF TEN WEIRD, RANDOM THINGS, FACTS OR HABITS ABOUT YOURSELF. AT THE END, YOU CHOOSE FIVE PEOPLE TO BE TAGGED, LISTING THEIR NAMES AND WHY YOU CHOSE THEM TO BE TAGGED. DON’T FORGET TO LEAVE THEM A COMMENT “YOU’RE IT” AND TO READ YOUR BLOG. YOU CAN’T TAG THE PERSON WHO TAGGED YOU. SINCE YOU CAN’T TAG THAT PERSON BACK, LET HIM OR HER KNOW WHEN YOU’VE POSTED YOUR BLOG SO HE OR SHE CAN READ YOUR ANSWERS.

I don’t know how exciting this will be, but here ya’ go…  :)

1.  Kelly and I met on a blind date and were engaged 6 weeks later.  (The second time my parents saw him was when we told them we were engaged…that was fun.  :)

2.  Mom, don’t read this…my freshman year of college, I could drink a whole 12 pack of beer by myself in one night.  I didn’t do it often, but it was done.

3.  Kelly calls me rain-woman- I can tell you almost all of the interstate markers for the stops along I-80 going back to NE.  We’ve been by them like 200 times, so I’ve seen them a lot!

4.  I passed 5 kidney stones when I was pregnant with Harrison, and several more after that, including one that was the size of a large pea (usually they are about the size of a large grain of sand or a small apple seed).  Ouch.

5.  In junior high and high school, I would pull trap for the gun club that my dad went to.  I even considered joining the trap team for my high school, but that was mainly because I had a major crush on one of the guys on the team.  I ended up working as a waitress, so I didn’t join it.

6.  One time in kindergarten I wrote on my favorite pink jeans with a pencil, and blamed it on the kid next to me when my mom asked about it.  I still feel guilty about that.

7.  I went to school in Enid, OK my freshman year at Phillips University, a very small Christian school, where they taught you to drink beer.  They are no longer open.  I then finished college at the University of Nebraska.

8.  I spent a summer working at Kamp Kaleo in Burwell, NE in 1996.  It is a church camp where I went in Junior High and High School.  I was on a team that did music, arranged activities for the kids, etc…  It was a lot of fun.  One day, I got locked in my bathroom when the door handle broke.  I was only in my robe and a towel that was on my head.  They missed me when I didn’t show up for the morning meeting, and they ended up having to take the whole door frame off to get me out.  I had to sit there with the lights off because the fan came on automatically and I couldn’t hear what they were saying.  I’m just glad I had my robe on.  :)

9.  I am scared of the ocean.  Every time Kelly and I are at the ocean (we’ve been to Mexico twice and Puerto Rico once) he goes out and when it gets up to his knees I start yelling hysterically for him to get back in where he’ll be safe.  I don’t know what it is…it just freaks me out.

10.  I have lived in Muscatine now for 1/3 of my life.  I can’t believe we’ve been here for 10 years now.  In fact it was 10 years for Kelly last Sunday.  We weren’t married when he moved here, so he’s been here just a little longer than me.  I know this isn’t exciting, but I really can’t think of anything else right now.  I might change this one if I think of something really exciting.

  1. Hey, that was some good info, and I am awake! :) I only say that because you mentioned something about needing a pillow on Brenda’s blog. I’ve lived here about 10 years myself-didn’t know that we were so close in the “transplant” deal! :) Oh, I would like to challenge you to a beer drinking contest!!:) NOT! You would win, hands down!

  2. I am seriously laughing, Amy. I would have never guessed half that stuff!! thanks for playing along! :-)

  3. Yeah, I don’t think I would win a drinking contest anymore. I might be able to drink 1/2 of a beer before I got giddy…and I’d have a terrible headache for sure. :) How about a latte drinking contest?? I’d win that! :)

  4. You little devil you! I’m shocked! You totally had me convinced that you were such a “good little girl.” :)
It took me a little while, but I’m not “it” anymore. :)

  5. And you thought you had nothing exciting to say! That was good stuff!!! :)

  6. I can’t say I am not shocked (I know you told me not to read it, but that was a sure sign I should read it) I think your fear of the ocean definitely has something to do with those l2 beers a night you consumed. I am sure glad you did not go back to that school and glad you are sticking to coffee these days. Hopefully I didn’t call that little kindergarten boy’s mom about your pink jeans. I think your brothers will get quite a kick out of your confessions or did they already know about all of this??????? STILL love you lots!!!

  7. I didn’t have 12 beers a night!! I wasn’t that bad. And I don’t think Matt or Chad probably know about it either… we should see what their lists say.
