Not Much…
I feel like we’re still recouperating. Kelly is doing a lot better, and has covered for me a lot in the last couple of days. He has taken care of Harrison in the morning on several occasions and let me rest longer. He even came home from church on Saturday early because I was miserable. I still have a bad sore throat and get achy from time to time.
Harrison seems to be doing better during the day, but still gets a slight fever at night and is still coughing, though the breathing treatments seem to help some. He’s got a really nasty runny nose, too. Sometimes I get the urge to call all the doctors who decided to recall all of the cough and cold medicine for kids under 2 and let them hear my son at 3 am…raising one end of the bed and the vaporizer just ain’t cutting it. I think it’s one of those issues where some people weren’t using it right, but all of us get to pay. I’m going to be calling the Dr. in the morning and seeing what else we can do. We’re going on 6 days Tuesday with Harrison having a fever, coughing and a bad runny nose (and really not much improvement) and I think that is too long! I just wish I could take it away from him. Hoping next post I will have some better news!

I totally agree with you about the meds for young children! I found that the infant meds worked perfectly for clearing up the stuffy / runny noses and taking care of the sore throats. There’s talk of them taking the meds for older kids of the shelves, too… I think I might stock up! I hope you guys all get to feeling better soon.
okay, so i am of the other mindset, where i don’t medicate my kids, but i have no issues with those that do… that said, i thought you could still get the cough meds, you just had to get them from the pharmacist. still over the counter, just regulated. that is how it had been in seattle for a while before we left, am i wrong?
I don’t know for sure, but I don’t think you can get them anywhere. I know they pulled them off of the shelves and our pediatrician (who doesn’t totally agree with the recall) didn’t say anything about being able to get it through the pharmacist. She said that they are thinking about recalling all cough/cold meds for kids through 12 years of age.
