We got rid of one animal, but gained another…
in our van engine. Yes, we have a cat in our van engine. I first heard it while sitting outside in the grass this afternoon with Harrison. I thought it was just a cat that I see in the neighborhood once in a while. Then when I put Harrison in his car seat a little while later to go to the post office & park ,I heard it again, the meows coming from my engine. I popped the hood and it was sitting right on top (it was a fairly new kitty), but it immediately jumped back down into the engine. I looked and looked for it, but couldn’t see it, so I assumed it got out. Then tonight on my way home from Bible study, I started hearing “meow, meow”…WHILE I WAS DRIVING! I didn’t know what to do. I was just blocks from home and it was dark, so if I stopped I wasn’t going to be able to see it. I drove on home, praying that it wouldn’t get stuck somewhere in the engine that would rip it to shreds. Nice, I know. So I get home and get Kelly out to look. We see it down in the engine, but it won’t come out. After a while, we don’t hear it or see it, so we assume again that it got out. I drive the van into the garage. About 20 minutes ago we start hearing meowing again from the garage. This might be an interesting night. Any suggestions??

Oh my goodness!!!! It’s probably in or under the glove compartment. That’s where our cat was stuck for 24 hours on a trip from WVA to VA. Seriously, we thought he got out while we stopped for gas, but once we got home the next day we heard him crying…….not sure if that could be the case with your kitty, but don’t drive anywhere until you find it!!
Good luck!
I know Matt would have all kinds of horrible suggestions… some including a pellet gun…
My suggestion would be to put a bowl of milk near the van & coax it out that way… I suppose it’s better for a van to have a cat than gremlins….
