Sweaty Palm Syndrome

We had a girls’ night out at group tonight and had great conversation and enjoyed a meal together.  Somehow we started talking about medical conditions and I brought up my sweaty palms and feet (it is actually called hyperhidrosis).  I’ve had this problem since I was a kid and it goes beyond having sweaty palms when you’re nervous.  At times I actually have sweat dripping from my hands for no apparent reason.  I can’t go barefoot in the house because I slip on the wood floor.  I can only wear sandals for a short period of time (like an hour or two).  When I was in school I would get sweat all over my papers and that’s not good if you’re a perfectionist.  I re-did many papers.  And I won’t even start about gym or music class where we had to stand in a circle and hold hands.  I know….boo hoo.  I actually saw something on Oprah one time about it.  Dr. Oz said if I soak my feet and hands in tea for a certain time period a day for a week I think it is suppose to control it.  I need to try that…I have tried several things before that haven’t helped.  I really want to try it, but I just don’t have time to make tea, sit down for 10 minutes twice a day and soak my hands and feet in it.  :)

Anyway, making a short story long…after I got home tonight I thought of a funny story that I can blame on my sweaty feet.  One time we were back home in NE and I washed a pair of sandals in my in-law’s washer.  I had to wash them every so often because they get stinky from my feet sweating.  Anyway, we were heading to a graduation party.  My feet started sweating on the way there, and apparently the soap did not get all the way out of the cloth on the sandals.  I had bubbles forming on my feet and on the sandals.  This made me very irritated.  I made Kelly stop at a store so I could run in and get a new pair of sandals.  I was not going to a graduation party with bubbles coming off of my shoes…it was very uncomfortable and I was slipping and sliding everywhere.  :)   Just thinking about it makes me want to go make some tea.
