My First Mother’s Day
I just got done feeding Harrison and rocking him to sleep. What a precious gift it is to be his mommy. I don’t want to take these moments for granted. I love this little boy so much. The last year has been full of change and new discoveries. I have added a whole new role to my life; no doubt my most important one. It has been challenging, fun, hard, tiring, fulfilling, oh, what a blessing! I love to watch him discover new things. Lately, he has been discovering his voice and will scream as loud as he can just to hear himself. He grins from ear to ear when I laugh after he does it. He loves to say “ba ba ba ba”. I’m working on “ma ma ma ma”.
He’s pulling himself up and has stood by himself twice now for just a second or two, but it’s progress. I can’t believe he will be 9 months old on saturday. Time does fly.
Harrison, I love being your mommy. There is no other job in the world I would rather have. I am so glad I get to be home with you during the day and get you out of your crib after your naps. I am so glad I get to teach you new things, read with you, take you on walks and rock you to sleep at night. You are such a smiley baby and bring so much joy to people we see everywhere. And you have brought joy into our home. I love you. Mommy
